They aren't that bad, but to answer your question, yes, yes they could.

If you have the oil filter tool that fits over the bottom of the filter and a long extension, it's not that bad. 2010 Dodge Cummins. Change the oil filter on one of the first generation Hemi's and you'll think that Cummins is a walk in the park.

I take all the air hoses off to the turbo, easier to get to then. But my 92 and 06 are a pain no doubt

I think they are in the same spot for all for all of the Cummins motors that came in the dodge trucks? Not super easy for sure, but not the hardest I have ever changed.

Doing a Cummins up to a 2013 isn't a problem at all, the filter drops straight down without spilling. When they changed the frame in 2014, the crossmember under the motor got wider so no more dropping the filter straight down, now you have to pull it out the side while tipping it so it spills oil. You can buy a cap to cover the old filter so it doesn't spill.

I just loosen the filter, put a plastic bag around it then spin it off. No fuss, no mess.

My 2004 Dodge is easy to change the filter on. The fuel filter can piss me off if my 5 gallon bucket I stand on to do it flies out from under my feet! laugh2

I have a 2004 3500 Ram with a CTD. I just changed my oil last weekend. As mentioned filter wrench that caps the end of the filter and a long extension or 2 and it is simple to spin off and drops straight down.

Same deal on my 2006 Ram 3500 4x4 up
I fill the new filter up(it takes 4 or 5 times filling it and letting the oil soak in until it won't take anymore scope up) before installing it to make sure of no dry starts also up scope

Yes sir! The engineer that come up with that idea should be punched squarely in the jaw! If you have chick hands it might not be bad but if you're anybody that's anywhere near an average size person forget about it it's a pain!
