Buying something to clean the gutter guards on the 2nd story of our new house (house is 20 years old but new to us). Lots of leaves. UGH. I spoke with the 2 older neighbors to see if they might consider getting rid of their huge trees that are over my house. I even said I'd pay. They said no but I could have them trimmed. After I get done they are gonna wish they had agreed to take them down cause they are gonna be FLAT to the property line. Gonna look stupid and probably unstable.

Anyway, I'm NOT getting up on the roof or up a 25ft ladder so I found a "professional grade" telescoping pole for a pressure washer. The hose runs up inside the telescoping pole. It has a 180 degree steel tubing bend at the top for a pressure washer tip to clean gutters. Should have it by Friday.

Mostly very good reviews although at full extension it sounds like a HANDFUL. People claimed they were "sore for days" and basically used the exiting pressure to "steer" the pole.

One review said, "do not use while on a ladder unless you have previous circus experience". I busted out laughing.

Sounds interesting do you have a link ? Does it require a pressure washer or a regular hose ?

Meant for s pressure washer. Ill be using like a 1600psi electric one. I dont want to blow the fascia boards off

Thanks for the info, Seems a bit pricey and that high of high pressure to clean gutters is a bit concerning as well?? I could see where some shingle damage could easily occur

I'd be kinda worried about it blowing too much water up under the shingles and maybe rotting the roof decking, but of course.....letting the gutters get clogged up can do the same thing.

It's rated for 4000psi but like I said I'm just using a 1600psi electric home depot washer.

Looks like it comes with a garden hose connection too if worried about the pressure.

One company that sells a pro gutter vacuum has a $300 optional GoPro wireless and a mount for your I phone. I may get that too.

A 24' extension with a 180 degree turn would give that turned end a lot of leverage against the person holding the pressure end.
I sure hope the gutters are still attached to the roof/soffit really well, could have the gutters falling down towards you pretty quickly, especially if they are already full of years of built up, well set, stuff and you add another 1600 psi of force against the nails that hold the gutters in place.

Have you given any thought about where all the stuff that was in the gutter is going to go after it leaves the gutter?

Holding onto the 1600 psi wand with a 24' extension, blowing water against a floppy loose gutter while dodging the flying gutter debris, could also become a big game of dodge the falling gutter and its leaf content. Be sure to catch the event on video, it could be worth some money, or at least a good laugh after you recover from treatment. We wouldn't laugh at such a video if it became available... we promise..... Gene

I made a fixture to attach around 25 foot of gutter with a turndown at the end To my gas powered leaf blower. Go out when the leaves are good a dry and blow the gutters clean, do it a couple of times/year and it works great. Odd looking I'll admit but quick and efficient.

Pin Oak Leaves are the worst I have seen for blocking gutters.

The way they traditionally attach down spouts to gutters is bad practice.
It causes blockages.

At the end of a gutter run,
a long radius ninety degree elbow should smoothly turn the whole gutter width downward,
that would not block up with leaves, twigs, etc.

In mineral processing plants where both rocks and water are flowing in pipes and chutes,
you learn the hard way not to create a gutter-like downspout connection,
it will jam frequently and wear out fast.

Someone should market a blockage resistant end of gutter turn down,
not the leaf filter gutter roofs,
or the “radius slot” tops that catch water but partially allow leaves to fall below the gutter where they eventually must be raked up.

I have two of these - one at the house and one up at the lake cottage. Get the shoulder harness if you are feeble. This thing is a beast to control when it is fully extended. you need to have a good standing position and learn to combat the forces as you lean into the pole. Plan on doing nothing the next day and have a good bottle of bourbon ready to wash down the Aleeve.

1600psi is probably rated through the smallest orfice. And Im certain theres losses up the pole and especially at the 180 turn. I’ll be using the largest orfice with the 3/16” hole that fans out. Its not stronger than the spray at a car wash. And cause the pole says RATED for 4000psi, its not magic. It doesnt boost the pressure. I designed industrial hydraulic systems and robotic waterjet cutting systems for 30 years so I little first hand
knowledge. Give me a tiny bit of credit. Im not spending $$$ on equipment to blow the crud off the gutter guards on my new 2nd home lake house cause I are stoopid
