Did his announcement have anything to do with the little tiff him and Gene Simmons had?

I listed to some of their classics in that last show and yes it was time. Sad though.

I haven't kept up. What happened to Michael Anthony? I liked him.

Facts are stubborn things.

I saw David Lee Roth play a live New Year's Eve show with Van Halen just before the 2020 covid crisis, and he looked and sounded like a drunken karaoke singer. He wasn't just bad he was terrible! I wasn't surprised one bit when Gene Simmons called him out for how bad he sounds these days. The band was good but Dave sucked. A lot of what made Dave sound good back in the day was Michael Anthony's backup vocals. He was the backbone of the band vocally and carried Roth back then. Hearing Dave sing without Michael doing the background vocals was bad.

And Michael is a car guy! He owns Bonspeed Wheels and made our custom wheels for the Mr. Norms modern Challengers. I went to a Bonspeed party at the Hard Rock Cafe in Las Vegas and it was epic. Steve Strope was playing bass (I didn't know he was a studio musician and that made him the money to start his resto mod shop) then Michael came in and they started jamming basses, I will never forget that! Saw Michael at SEMA the next year with his family as he was walking in, and he saw me and introduced them to me and asked me how I was doing! What a great guy! punkrocka

This is very true. Yet DLR and VH were spectacular, while BOA kinda show how gawdawful the 1970s could be.

But that was the 70's, drugs improved perception, I am told, so did Ruby Starr.

Last time I worked with BOA, was late 70's in daytime, in Panama City at a Drive in theater, security outnumbered audience, but Jim Dandy still had a kick left.

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
