Is this a footbrake car or a transbrake car?

You can stall it to get some temp in it. 8”converter will heat up pretty quick. Not really. You have to abuse it on jackstands to get any heat in it. Easiest thing to do is change the number on the window, if you know what your car will do. Mine would pick up a couple if it didn't cool for 45 minutes or more. Put some numbers in it and carry on.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

If you are shooting for consistency then I'd use an intercooler rather than a cooler. Use the engine coolant on the other side of the intercooler rather than air. That way the transmission fluid will run at the same temp as the engine which is probably 180 degrees. This ^^^^^ On my Charger I run it through the cooler 1st then to the Radiator cooler, it does keep the fluid about the same as coolant temp
