Or the DC manual with flywheel weighting for a cast crank 383...
Cast crank 2bbl 383 replacement crankshaft Part number 3462922
From the 70-71 parts book.
Can I get a scoop for the info?
Yeah .....and I saw a flying-saucer last nite !
POST a pic of that parts page or an "official" link .....
And if I am UNcorrect .... you guys can "fight-over" who ever gets the scoop !
And I would STILL like to hear the logic of offering two diff low-po motors with two diff cranks ...

Maybe the flying saucer hit you in the head or they stole your... nevermind...
Jeff posted the page as I can't export it from the program I use to view it.

The logic may go something like this, they knew they were switching to all cast cranks but they had to use up their remaining forged cranks so they just divided them up and said "cast crank, 2bbls forged cranks 4bbls".

B U T ... they kept using the forged cranks in the 400 for a long time past when the 383 was dropped.
OK ...you guys with all the lists and data ....
what was the OEM weight diff between a 383 and 400 piston? ... I am thinking that back-then there was little to no weight-diff between the two pistons. T H E N ... why not use-up those forged 383 cranks in the 400's ?
Whatcha' wanna BET that they used them up that way ? .... (or should have!)
NO SCOOP this time !

I guess the posted parts info, and first hand witness accounts aren't enough for this guy.
In all honesty, I had never seen one till last year myself. BUT they are real.
As for the logic...since when does logic have anything to do with what the big 3 do?
Sorry you found out you were wrong
