Is it holding the door partially on the first click, and just not completing the 2nd click? Or is it just bouncing back open? I also had a problem with one of my outside handles. If someone pushed the black button (68-69) or chrome (70) button in too far, the button would get wedged pushed in and i could not close the door until i pryed the button back out in normal position. The door would just bounce back out when they tried to close it like that. Don’t think that is happening here based on your description.

i'm a guy who likes a door to shut with a gentle "click-click". i just HATE it when i see guys have to shut something with a big "SLAM" !!!!!!! with that said, my charger's hood and trunk lid have always closed with a soft click. the doors, what a pain ! i have played with the latches for hours, finally getting them to shut easily with the windows down. however, i now have to readjust the windows [front & rear] plus the vent window frames, so they do not deflect when closing the doors. this can be easily seen, so i'm in for more hours of fun. my doors WILL shut with a soft "click-click"............... it sure can be frustrating. if the OP's door shuts once in a while correctly, the latch may still be good, but may only need to be taken out, cleaned good, greased and reinstalled.

No the door shuts,, but only primary catch,, not the secondary Make sure you do not have the striker to far inward. If you do you the door can not go in far enough to engage the secondary click. Try to move the striker out and see what happens.

Take a screwdriver and manually close the latch on the door. See if it double clicks as it should...If it does...not a latch problem but an adjustment issue.... It is not that style latch. It is a round gear style that rotates 360 degrees.

Should still go 2 clicks. Possibly the second notch is getting worn and not holding anymore.
