I’ve owned my 68 b-body Charger for over 35 years now, and while it may not be a survivor or 100% original, it has always had these rubber isolators between the radiator lower tank and lower support as long as i’ve owned it. Are these original pieces? They fit perfectly in the factory holes and seem to be for that purpose. Can anyone shed some light. I guess they could have been added by previous owner, but i doubt it.

The radiator is bolted directly to the radiator support.

from the factory there was plenty of clearance there. Bottoms of the radiator support along with lower valences got bend when old tow trucks with the rubber flaps would cradle the front underside.

There's a few factory holes on the bottom for water drainage.

I've never seen any rubber bumpers like those on an original Mopar of that era, and that's probably hundreds of cars by now.
Including 20-some original B-bodies of that era that I've owned.

owning a junkyard back in the day these cars were just cars [1972-1986], i have never seen ANY mopar product with those rubber items below the radiator tank.
this is just my experience.

Those look like the rubber plugs used to plug the non ac heater box stud holes on an AC B body.

As for the rubber bumpers on radiator supports, on early B and/or C bodies they did use small rubber bumpers similar to these. I have a sample and pictures somewhere. Given to me by a customer at Carlisle. He actually brought the while radiator support to show me.

Ok. Thanks guys. I can now rest knowing they are not orig to my car. Haha. I appreciate the feedback…always learning the little details, even 35 years after messing with these Mopars.

71TA. That might actually be the case here…..the previous owner installed a c body Imperial 28” Radiator bc of cooling problems. Maybe he transfered those over from that car. As a side note, that previous owner is such an awesome guy, he had saved the original radiator for 30+ years, for my car , and gave it to me a few years back. smile
