I has been a while since I posted some pictures. Most of the parts that I restore wind up buried somewhere in the car, so I thought this would be a piece of a part that does remain visible. I restore the 70 one year only turn signal switches and along with that refinish the knob, too.
I currently have four 70 Cuda, Challenger only that are being restored. There are no repops available for 1970 versions and the cheapo repop turns signal knobs are much taller than the originals, although you will be told that it fits the 1970. My hats off to these people that want to keep their 70 cars as original as possible by having their 2947905 turn signal switches restored.
On a post dated 5.18.15 on this thread shows the complete restoration of a 2947905 turn signal switch. Again, mostly all of that restoration work gets hidden in a steering column.
Most folks will know about this but it is worth mentioning for someone looking for an original 70 E body or the other versions for the 2947509 A, B and C body versions or the 2947503 for the C body with the added three wire ribbon cable that powered the front cornering lights. Because of the wide diameter crush can used on the E body, the triangle points away from the column and pulls out to turn on the four way flashers. The others have the triangle pointing toward the steering column and needs pushed in to turn on the four way flashers.
I added a third picture of the back of these two versions so you can see the difference in the wiring positions.
Hopefully, if the part number tag is removed, you can feel more confident purchasing correct one of these factory 1970 turn signal switches for your model car without the “whoopsie” surprise!
Lastly, it is good to still be able to offer these electrical restorations for the Mopars! THANK YOU to all of the well wishers that have contacted me. I really appreciated that!
