Lots of people on Moparts poo poo certain power adders. Apparently roots blowers may be okay but others not-so-much.

Things like turbos and nitrous are "cheating".

I wanted Ka-Blue-E at the party bad. But my indy block needs a decking and I'd like to upgrade to 1/2 head bolts and top fuel hoops wile at it and my machine shop is booked solid so it will sit. He got the heads back to me today. But I found the block issue late last week and he said too busy. Sux but not many around here I trust with my block. I have went through the whole car only to not make it. Trans, rear end, motor.

Not sure but for a given power level a turbo engine gives it the best chance.

Everytime I see you car I think of that pile of tubes in your garage. It sure did turn into a cool car. I agree with you - shop time is as fun as track time. I enjoy modifying and fabricating on the hotrod projects more because it is on my schedule.

Definitely. The relaxed atmosphere in the shop, thinking about various ways to get the job done, is part of this hobby.

The ole pile of tubes, narrowing the rear, building this thing was a task. But the friends made along the journey are priceless.

My only real “hate” on the power adder deal is it would take my slightly useless bracket car and make it totally useless somewhat fast car where I’d probably be ladder fodder at one of the few events where I could run it. Kind of like the nostalgia FED I’d love to have which would limit me to 3-4 races a year. Ok….. that and the expense. Pretty tapped on what I run now, but my siamese R3 W8 combo would be a fabulous base for such nonsense

I think it is prejudice based on how easy it is to get more power than NA builds. Geuss I have been a bit guilty of that. But now I own a truck with a pair of turbos, and a car with 32 valves. That's cheating, ain't it😁

How fast have this combo been 4.50's-60's ? i can't think of many in the community been in the 4's shilo , (think thats the name )and n20mstr i think has been close if not.

My best was a 4.800 at 162mph. Peddling like a mofo for first 100 feet
I took the wheelie bars off and been trying to walk the thin line between spin and wheelie.
With the old FAST ecu I could never get it to bump in.

The car made 3 final rounds and several more semifinals, but always a bridesmaid.

It's been a blast to build and play with. I hope the HEMI is as reliable.
