For anyone going to MATS this year, the schedule is different than in the past. For Drag Racing the "test session" starts at 3 pm and racing runs in the evening/night. I'm running the auto cross which kicks off around 4-5 pm. Bring lots of beverages as the forecast is 104 in the day and high 70's at night.
Thursday Sept 9th, 2021
5:00 PM Pre-Entered Racers can receive their credentials and move into their designated pit areas.
7:30 PM Pre-Entered Credential open for all others. Midway, Car Show, Swap Meet, Autocross
9:30 PM Credential Close
Friday Sept 10th, 2021
9:00 AM Gates open to all Drag Racers & Tech Open
9:00 AM Midway, Autocross, Swap Meet Credentials & Set Up
3:00 PM Drag Race Open Test Session
4:00 PM Car Show roll-in
5:00 PM Spectator Gates Open, Car Show, Midway, Swap Meet Open
5:00- 6:00 PM Modern Muscle Car Hot Lap HAPPY HOUR-Drag Strip & Autocross
6:00 PM Car Show Judging Begins & Auto Cross Driver Meeting
6:00 PM Continued Drag Race Test Session
9:00 PM Battle of the Brands Bracket Race, (Ford vs Ford, GM vs GM, Mopar vs Mopar, the last GM and last Ford, will run the two remaining Mopars for the Winner of Battle of the Brands.) Randy Clickner Memorial Shoot Out

9:00 AM Gates open to all Drag Racers & Tech Open
9:00 AM Midway, Autocross, Swap Meet Credentials & Set Up

I'm getting in Friday afternoon and doing the swap meet. Figure I'd camp out Friday night and see how it goes.. Noticed that the weekend pass is 40.00 instead of the usual 75.00

The schedule for the show and swap being late in the afternoon is the dumbest idea since unscented cologne or garlic flavored toothpaste.
