I just found this steering box through a discussion on ForCbodiesonly.com it is from BuyAutoParts, I don't have anything to do with the company selling, just really curious on a new box for our Mopars.
I am posting this here to see if anyone here has tried one. I would if it was up here in Canadian funds.

Wonder how you hook up the lines? I only see one port so where is the return?

Sold by Rockauto too. Possibly made by (or for) Lares.

I can’t believe they casted a new housing for this.

It must be based off a newer production steering box.

One posted on FABO and has issues…. Whine and tightness.

https://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/threads/tight-ps-gearbox.497139/#post-1973548110

I searched Lares… and they are based out of Minneapolis. They claim this is a more modern box. Also significant they sell pumps, pump valves, steering gear nut and washer, high pressure fitting adapters, etc

http://catalog.larescorp.com/select/Dodge/Challenger/1971/

And get this… they are selling a T/A steering box. Odd since all that was was increased feel and different end stops (to accommodate longer pitman sweep).

So Borgeson got away form the welded casings? All cast now?

Yes, Borgenson went all cast.

But this Lares box doesn’t appear to be that same casting. Not a lot of pictures of the Lares box though.

Steve, you mentioned on FABO that the cure for the Borgeson box noise is an inline reducer.
Could you give some details on the cure?
I installed two boxes on a clients car and he wouldn't live with it, so out they came. Felt great tho.

I have no first hand experience with the Borgenson box.

On FABO, members have reported adding valves. I think from Peter Bergman.

The same box is sold as Cardone 97-6542GB - but much cheaper than the Buy Auto Parts box (also new and not rebuilt) - ~$300 vs. $582!

I installed a Borgenson box in my Coronet in the last update. Sure works nice. Now I can actually drive the car at low speed and maneuver it in tight spots such as in my shop. I used a late model Corvette PS pump and it doesn't make any noise.

When is the next run? I'll be buying the CNP stuff like you did. I'd love a set.

I don't plan on making anymore valve covers. I sent the CAD file to a guy in NC who was building billet covers for Ford and GM engines. He was going to make a production run of Mopar BB covers but his business went sideways and I don't think his shop is still open. So I'm not sure what happened with the files. I do know that I never got paid for the design.
