For you folk that have run one..Does this do any harm to the engine? If I don't get my car sold,I am going to try a plate and maybe the doc will let me drive. It is a very low 10 second car and I want to run low to mid 12.xxs thanks! Ted wave

I have a couple buddies that run the removable plate type restrictor. They can change the size, to slow the car down accordingly. You could also try disconnecting the secondary's. Mike used to do that when his daughter started driving the car. It would kill 3/4 of a second off.

Easy enough to make a dead-consistent 12.80 car out of an 11.40s car by only running on the primaries.
Didn't hurt a thing - it's basically just a combustible-air pump.

I bought the ET Genie this year to use on my car for index racing. I've only used it 3 times far and have been trying different things with it. My car typically is a 10.70s car and I slowed it down to 11.50s. The ET Genie has 24 turns of adjustment to restrict. At first I turned the resistor 18 turns and got close, but since it was closed significantly throttle response had a delay to it. I could mat the gas and than feel the car response (Kind of like the new cars with electronic throttles). The next week I unhooked the secondaries and closed the resistor 7 turns and the car ran the same ET and had much better throttle response. To slow a car down 2 seconds is a lot. For that much ET change I'd consider building a much milder engine or something to make it easier to get to your desired ET goal.

Be careful of vour WOT vacuum, if it gets too high the PV won't open.

I have been slowing my Dart down from 10.70s to 11.50s for 12 years now I use a modified Moroso bolt system To change settings I just turn the bolt in or out. My secondaries are barely opening. I tried the Willys adjustable plate system as well as the E T Genie with different plates and couldn’t get the car to react as well as the bolt system I already use. My engine builder ran dyno tests on a customers engine using a plate system to see the results and found no strange reversion or fuel distribution problems.

Have you considered using a 650 carb and launching in 2nd gear? Running off the primaries is just like running a 2 bbl carb. I've had that combo on a few stock eliminator cars and its tough running the number when the weather is off.
