Hey everyone. I’m having a problem trying to figure out how to activate my 2 step off of 2 micro switches that I bought from quarter max. I want to wire it into the first gear linkage and the clutch pedal so that when the clutch is pushed down and it’s in 1st gear the 2 step is activated. It’s in a 69 charger and the transmission is a Gforce G101A. Just wondering if anyone has a wiring diagram they could post. I’m not the biggest fan of wiring. Thanks

I have my 2 step wired the same way off the first gear lever and a switch on my pedal stop. I really don't know how to post a diagram but I have them wired in series so both switches need to be closed to complete the circuit to activate the 2 step.

if the two step needs 12V current use a volt ohm meter to read the wires through the switch to see when it conducts current, use the ohm meter to read continuity, to see when it is conducting through the switch. scope Normally open will conduct when the switch is not on(activated), normally closed will conduct only when the switch is on or closed scope
If it needs ground due the same thing, same test wrench

Do you have a long shifter with the slider blocks? If you do mound the microspwith the contact the shifter block in first. If you have a non block style shifter used two side cover bolts to mount a microswitch bracket the is activated by the shift lever tab.

For the clutch I used the clutch pedal bumper stop hole for the ckutch micro but it eventually beat the switch to death a few times so I switched to a roller lever style from mcmaster.

As Gus said the need to be wired in series. I usually switch electronic stuff on the ground side if I have a choice these days.

Attached pic may help. This assumes you will be using a Line Lock to stage. The linelock PB, the shifter micro and the Clutch micro are wired in series. Use the "Normally Open" contact from each device.
2-Step will be active when the car is in 1st gear and the clutch pedal is pressed and the line lock PB is pressed. Releasing the linelock pb or the clutch pedal or shifting out of 1st gear will de-activate the 2-stap.

Here's something you may want to add to your set-up. The relay will let you stage the car, activate the 2-step when the clutch pedal is pressed and shifter is in 1st gear and you push the line-lock PB. The "Normally Open" relay contact will bypass the linelock PB and keep the 2-step and linelock active until you release the clutch or shift out of 1st gear. This way you will not have to keep the linelock PB pressed while the car is staged.
