Broke an adjuster today and I was looking at Smith Brothers to replace them are they the best?

Buy the race Manton with their lock nuts (951-245-6565) and never look back Not cheap though

I always thought Smith Bros was pretty good stuff, especially for this particular application.? I will say that what i have seen of Manton, I was pleased.

I have Manton adjusters in my hemi. No issues ever and they're great to deal with.

For $100 adjusters I can Smith Bros. For $200 adjusters I call Trend or Manton. The adjusters are usually $160-170 and add another Andrew for nuts.

My Flat tappet stuff gets Smith.

Same here, part number 824 has a thru hole which eliminated a lubrication issue I had caulsing gauling adjusters adn Push Rod Cups

Question.. Do you pull valve covers and check after every pass? How often do you check?
This is something that has been bugging me for a while and has kept me from completing my hemi build.

What I have found on both B,RB and 426 Hemi motors with all GOOD rocker gear and pushrods is new parts wear in requiring several adjustments until they wear in and are seated. Once they do that I check them once or twice a year depending on how many runs are on the motor(every 50 to 100 runs?) or when I hear one needing attention
Many years ago I would check them after every race cold at home before taking the car to the track for the next race, once I found out which GOOD parts to use that stop

Well I'm going with the Smith Bros. adjusters. My current springs are only 365# open with a mild SFT so I think they should do the job. I don't know what adjusters RAS uses on their rockers but in changing all of them.
A good buddy(10 second GTX) gave an old Crane adjuster to get me through the weekend at Norwalk

I was only checking once twice an event, but for other reasons I am now checking every pass. Not necessarily for push rod issues but all things valvtrain related

I run Smith Brother’s and never had any issue and real happy with there service.
