Hi all,
my name is Daniel and I am from Germany.
I'm driving a 2015 Grand Cherokee SRT 6.4 and had now 2 times bad luck with the standard 6.4 SRT engines. (No racing, no hard driving, seems to be a material/heat problem).
The car has now 70.500 miles on it. First engine has been replaced at 65000mls about one year ago. Now I have a crack in a cylinder wall after 5500 miles and no more warranty. So time to thing about a better block.

I read that BGE blocks and hellcat blocks are (nearly) the same. Partnumber is 68166434AD what I am looking for. This block seems to have better coolant channels and a better material of cast.
Will all my nearly new parts from my actual standard 6.4 SRT block fit to this as an easy swap?

My plan is to get only one of this BGE engine blocks and took part by part over.

I think at least I need these things to complete it:
- Rod bearings
- Main bearings
- Thrust washer bearings
- Lower Gasket set
- Upper gasket set
- 2x head bolt sets
- Oil Pickup Tube seal
- Timing chain
- Coolant, oil, oil filter

Will the SRT parts fit? Did I overlooked something?

Thank you for your comments....Daniel

P.s. and only for the little boy inside of me: is there a recommended camshaft to add to get a little bit more power from the original SRT heads, and no need for a tune of the PCM?

Direct swap of the blocks. Every nut and bolt swaps right over. My 6.4 SRT8 in my ram 1500 is a BGE block with all the SRT8 parts in it. I think the factory has switched over to running the BGE blocks in the latest SRT8s.

The 6.4 cam is pretty good already. I would go old school and shave the heads .030 (gives you about .5 compression and a little more pre-load on the lifters to keep ticking down), maybe swap in some long tube headers and 85MM throttle body. The factory long block without pulling the valve covers can get around 580HP with the really tall intake (eddelbrock and holley have shorter EFI manifolds that might get kinda close, I actually prefer the factory plastic one for the street because it don't heat the air as much as the aluminum ones), long tube race type headers and appropriate tuning.

First I've ever heard of 392 block problems, even on boosted cars (then they have piston problems). But yes they all use the BGE block now and have since 2017 or 2018 I think

Sometimes it is nice to be one of the first, sometimes not:

I've never taken a late Gen 3 hemi motor apart like being discussed, are they aluminum blocks with wet sleeves or not? help

All the factory blocks including the BGE and SRT8 are iron blocks, no sleeves.

there was some machining issues a 2 years back , but that was about it.....Looking at the video , it looks like a pin hole in the cylinder wall, not unheard of, sometimes sand finds it's way past the core molds , or the block had some serious core shift in casting it happens., the 6.1 block had some odd issues, some of the later 08-10 had some serious core shift in casting ... I have two OEM bare 6.1 blocks here that according to the sonic sheets shouldn't be bored due to some serious core shift . only .110 on the trust side..

as for strength of the SRT6.4 Block, it's not as strong as the BGE/Hellcat.....but ..it's gone well over 1k HP in some serious boosted applications with NO cylinder split.....everything else brakes...Now if you bore it past 4.125 yes they'll split .

What you have there Sir is one rare a$$ crap block.

Late 16 production run is when the cross over started it, it was one of those as the parts bins emptied the line switch started.
