Hi all, my name is Daniel and I am from Germany. I'm driving a 2015 Grand Cherokee SRT 6.4 and had now 2 times bad luck with the standard 6.4 SRT engines. (No racing, no hard driving, seems to be a material/heat problem). The car has now 70.500 miles on it. First engine has been replaced at 65000mls about one year ago. Now I have a crack in a cylinder wall after 5500 miles and no more warranty. So time to thing about a better block. I read that BGE blocks and hellcat blocks are (nearly) the same. Partnumber is 68166434AD what I am looking for. This block seems to have better coolant channels and a better material of cast. Will all my nearly new parts from my actual standard 6.4 SRT block fit to this as an easy swap?
My plan is to get only one of this BGE engine blocks and took part by part over.
I think at least I need these things to complete it: - Rod bearings - Main bearings - Thrust washer bearings - Lower Gasket set - Upper gasket set - 2x head bolt sets - Oil Pickup Tube seal - Timing chain - Coolant, oil, oil filter
Will the SRT parts fit? Did I overlooked something?
Thank you for your comments....Daniel
P.s. and only for the little boy inside of me: is there a recommended camshaft to add to get a little bit more power from the original SRT heads, and no need for a tune of the PCM?

there was some machining issues a 2 years back , but that was about it.....Looking at the video , it looks like a pin hole in the cylinder wall, not unheard of, sometimes sand finds it's way past the core molds , or the block had some serious core shift in casting it happens., the 6.1 block had some odd issues, some of the later 08-10 had some serious core shift in casting ... I have two OEM bare 6.1 blocks here that according to the sonic sheets shouldn't be bored due to some serious core shift . only .110 on the trust side..
as for strength of the SRT6.4 Block, it's not as strong as the BGE/Hellcat.....but ..it's gone well over 1k HP in some serious boosted applications with NO cylinder split.....everything else brakes...Now if you bore it past 4.125 yes they'll split .
What you have there Sir is one rare a$$ crap block.

First I've ever heard of 392 block problems, even on boosted cars (then they have piston problems). But yes they all use the BGE block now and have since 2017 or 2018 I think Late 16 production run is when the cross over started it, it was one of those as the parts bins emptied the line switch started.
