I've done the Gen 3 conversions with the Tremec 6 speeds before, not hard at all. Now in my newest project, a Hellcat with a 8 speed trans. Who makes the trans mount conversion? Any other pitfalls I need to need about?

Holley has the trans mounts. Not sure on pitfalls other than tunnel clearance and the usual driveshaft conversion stuff

boy that was a lot of work. Holley makes it sound like you just cut out the cross member and use their system, not all that tunnel work.

True, and I wouldn’t want to cut up a Mopar like that unless it’s a low-dollar car.

China is the enemy.

I'd hate to be the guy that did all that work to that car and youtubed it if you really can just cut out the cross member and use the holley mount:

https://www.holley.com/products/eng...ine_and_transmission_mounts/parts/BHS539

they only have this for B bodies so far for some reason.

that's not what it says....

"1966-72 MOPAR B-BODY GEN III HEMI SWAP COMPONENTS"

This particular part says 68-70 b body, not just Charger.

Isn't the b-body trans cross member fairly close to the e body?

My friend and I are each putting the 8 speed in our e body cars. I won't be ready probably until next year (for the body mods) but we are now working on getting the 8 speed to properly mount to the small block crank, figuring out flexplate spacing, tq mounting, etc..

We are using the Quicktime -947 plate, it has to be drilled for the new TQ. We thought about using the stock plate but I talked to Ross at QuickTime and he said it is easier to drill the holes for the converter than it is to drill the holes for the crank. Plus the balance on the plate won't change when drilling the holes for the converter (symmetrical) as it could with the holes for the crank (non symmetrical). The tooth count is 1 less vs. the stock 8hp plate (130 vs. 131) it shouldn't be an issue.

Our next step is to get the spacing off the crank to the plate/converter correct for the input shaft and starter.

Didn't mean to hijack the thread from the original poster.....

"Previously confirmed with electrified assistance by the head of sales operations Matt McAlear, the all-new Charger and Challenger with the fancy 8HP box could arrive in mild-hybrid, hybrid, or plug-in flavors. The most powerful transmission is called 8HP80PH, and in P2 setup for plug-in applications, it cranks out up to 215 horsepower plus 332 pound-feet (450 Nm) of torque.

Combine these figures with the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 of the Super Stock that develops 807 horsepower and 707 pound-feet (959 Nm) on pump gas, and you’ll get 1,022 horsepower and 1,039 pound-feet (1,409 Nm) in total"

Dodge is showing off a new car on July 8th

Nice. The wife's 2020 Mercedes GLE 580 has a hybrid setup with an electric motor in between the engine and trans and it provides 30 hp and 120 lbs more torque to the biturbo 4.0.

Holly's cross member will not work with the 90, just the 70.
