I thought I'd post this in case anyone didn't know about Rage. I know anyone fast knows, but for the rest of us maybe not.
I kinda stumbled across them hunting for real, active help with mechanical fuel injection, not a bunch of half attention phone calls, guessing, and spending.
Mike Kopchick, the owner, has an incredible history in the sport. He worked for Ed Pink, Keith Black, Donavan, crewing for Muldowney, designing blocks, and now completely in house manufacturing his own mechanical fuel pumps. Multiple CNC machine centers, and even hobbing his own gears. At one time all but 2 fuel teams used his pumps. A wealth of injection know how is putting it mildly.
I'd been lost, and more than frustrated with a couple of cast, water, blown hemis I'd built to run in a couple of index classes. I'd bought all the "best" stuff I could get direction to buy, only to wind up with a combination of parts, that would just never have worked. When I found Mike's place, I called expecting to get the old, "we don't do that" whatever brush off. Instead I got someone listening intently to my issues, and offering a solution. I drug all my junk up there, and dropped it off. They dynoed my blower, corrected my fuel system, flowed it, fixed other items, while they had it apart, then dynoed the motor and got everything ready to safely make a pass.
There is one caveat at Rage. They only work on systems running their pumps. Seemed like only a sales thing at first, but after getting a hands on, disassembly tutorial of the differences in pumps, manufacturing, materials, and design I understand why it's the rule there. I ditched 2 new watermans in favor of these. Not saying waterman isn't a fine pump, just that I think I'll do less than half the maintenance running a rage pump.
