I remeber someone mentioning that there is a Ford part number for a replacment plastic float for the sending unit that would pop into place of a damaged unit in a Mopar gas tank.

Does anyone know what I am talking about or recall the post in question ?

I'm sure if you go into a (gasp!) Ford dealership and tell them what you need they will get you one. I know they where used at least through the mid '90's.
