Fellas, just wondering if anyone is familiar with this big block mopar piston. Before taking it apart and having a bunch of loose pieces I would like to know if this piston may still be available.
Thanks

My guess is it's an old TRW piston. But, I wouldn't throw it away just yet. If the top land isn't collapsed, skirts aren't collapsed or scored, nor the pin bosses, the top damage may just be cosmetic and easily cleaned-up with a little polishing. If it's a TRW then expect the top ring land to be very thick and unlikely damaged.

Which engine? 440, 400, 426W, 383?

Are there any numbers stamped on the other pistons?

it is a 400 and not mine, just was asked my opinion and I am not a builder so I turned to the forum with tons of experience. the pistons have no numbers on the top to offer which surprises me unless they are standard bore, i may get a chance to see it in person but it is several hours from me. i will update if i can.

thanks fellas

The dome shape looks like an Arias piston to me. Or possibly SRP.

Those were my thoughts last night after looking at that picture. The TRW and Sealed Power piston kinda looked the same. I had several sets that I ran back in the early 1980’s and easily sold them on Moparts 10 years or so ago. Heavy and almost indestructible.

I don't think that's a speed pro/ trw. Their pockets are equal in size. That one appears to have different size ones.

I used to borrow Jacks valve pocket cutter to put my own reliefs in. I had to for those old .750 roller cams. Lol

yeah, I found one looks like Jack got a hold of this one too...lol But the pocket is different from the one in the post. The underside is pretty unique too.

iagree That step cut in the dome looks like some old Arias pistons I've seen before. Doesn't look like any TRW/Speed Pro I've seen.

Ding Ding Ding, those who said Arias was right, i looked for hours and this is the closet i found absolutely no info other than .030 over 383 arias pistons for sale from several years ago.

this would be the family of pistons like the 400 i posed about. AI e mailed arias but doubt i will get any response.

Ohhhhh ya. Those TRW piston pins were a lot thicker than that one. Lol.
