Dash lights are on a separate fuse, but it would be the dimmer if the fuse is good. There has been a guy rebuilding those, but to my knowledge they are not available new.

I rebuilt ours long ago, it wasn't too difficult.

Took it apart, had to use different fasteners to re-assemble.
cleaned all contacts, re-bedded resistance coil into ceramic with an appliance
touch-up paint and kept light pressure on the coil until repair was solid.

There is a link somewhere either here or one of the Charger forums.

Good luck, let us know how it goes, or with any questions.

Joe

PS If the resistance coil is FUBAR, you'll need to get another switch somewhere

If you don't mind the lights being fixed for full brightness then you can just use a 3/4" piece of wire to jumper out across two of the terminals - You no longer have the dimness adjustment anymore but my eyes were OK with the fix... Should be the middle terminal and one of the adjoining ones - I think the one with the black and green/yellow wire (this was on my 68 Road Runner) You can always reverse the mod later if/when you replace the switch.. Insert the switch to hold the jumper wire in place.
