I have an OEM radiator for my 1969 383 GTS Dart that needs work. Has anyone had Glen-Ray do a restoration on their original radiator and how much did it cost? Not looking for exact figures as every radiator would be different but trying to at least get a reasonable idea of the cost.

Depending on the work required, and the condition of your radiator, expect between $500-$1000 to recore/restore your original, IMHO your better off buying one of their repros if it's available for your application

Bob charged me $650 to restore my original Duster 340 radiator. It looks and functions perfectly

My original A12 Radiator was about $700 out the door a few years ago. Pretty pricey, the work was outstanding to say the least.

Bob at Glen-Ray is the best.

He restored a 22" numbers correct radiator for me and it looks NOS, I'm not kidding.

Call Bob, get a ball-park estimate and go from there.

Mike.

I've never seen better radiators done anywhere. If you want your original fan shroud to fit get one of Bob's radiators. If you want your OEM fan to fit the radiator correctly get Bob's radiator or yours repaired by him. Yes his radiators are expensive - but at this level Bob's radiators cannot be compared to others out there - it's like comparing Bentleys to Ford Pintos..................

About $700 shipped. That is for a new core with your tanks straightened. Local shop's here charge $500 For the same work but they are always lighter cores, and sometimes have radiator cap clocking issues, fan shroud fit issues, tank strap issues, they never want to fix. Glen-ray is worth the money.

With a company that heavily supports the Mopar resto crowd, Glen-Ray is a no-brainer.

I too have bought a couple of 26" rads from Glen Ray. Hands down, the best quality products, and best service in the industry.

Whats the approximant turn-around time for Glen-ray to rebuild a rad? I also need one done for my Dart. Thanks.

I'm late to the thread but I agree TOP NOTCH! I paid $750 for the one on my '79 Power Wagon "Max Cooling". I had bought a rockauto plastic tank junker just to get truck back on road and it would start to heat up bad in traffic on hot Florida days. Now it barely budges no matter what I put it through and looks great too. My turnaround time was a couple of months but IIRC it was Christmas time too.

Facts are stubborn things.

Thanks for that info. I'll plan on a 2 month turn-around time then. If I get it back quicker then great.

Oh
Talked to him a few times over the years at the Mopar Nats, etc. Bought a radiator cap off of him for my 69 Road Runner. Had a leak on my low mile 92 Mustang that started a few weeks before the Nats a few years ago. Talked to him at the Nats and sent it to him to restore a few days later. It looks beautiful. I think he charged me around $575. From what I recall, I had it back in a little over a month.
