Dart! If you could please post a link or screen shot as to where it states this in the code i would appreciate it. I'm trying to convince my inlaws to replace their tires, but the backwoods shop that inspected the vehicle made no mention of it to them.

Here is a copy out of my inspection book. Roman numeral (iii, and vii). My inspection auditor officer says that it is up to my decision of tire safety on dry rot cracks. I am not going to be sued over , putting an inspection sticker on a vehicle with any dry rot cracks in the thread. The world is to sue happy. I will not risk being sued over a $37 inspection sticker.....

Thsnk you for that. The way I worded it to them, in PA, there is nothing written specifically about tires cracking or with cracks, and as you also mentioned, its up to the individual inspecting. I agree with your rationale.

I’ve had Michelin’s and their BFG line do that. The bfgs that did it the worst were commercial TAs and had no more than 15-20k on them after three years when it started.

The suspect tires were replaced on Saturday. They are being sent to the manufacture for inspection. Even if nothing is done on their part, I got a deal on the new tires and I didn't have to pay a disposal fee.

Just got a call from the tire dealer. The manufacture is adjusting those cracked tires. They are cutting me a check for what I paid for the new tires minus the cost of two new valve stems.
