I’m sure my 727 is staying in 2nd gear too long at full throttle (stock ‘77 D100 318 2bbl). I don’t have a tach, but it’s much higher rpm than the 1-2 shift. Is this a symptom of needing a band adjustment, and if so, is it the adjuster that’s on the outside of the tranny? Thanks.

Will it upshift if you back off the throttle slightly? If so, try shortening the TP (kickdown) linkage so the trans lever is not as far back at WOT.
