Hey guys,
I just swapped out my old 741 center for a rebuilt one both are clutch type limited slips units with 3.91 gears. Prior to disassembly the axles end play checked good, with the new 741 in place both left and right axles have a ton of end play. I tried to adjust it out but no prevail.
I need this back on the road asap.... What am I doing wrong?

I am not certain if the spacers are still there, didnt even look.... I just assumed it was there.....
If it is not, how much of chore is it to remove from my other diff?
Or is this a good time to upgrade to Green bearings?
Thank you

Personally I'd put green bearings on it and call it a day.

If the buttons are not in, removing the center again to install them is a lot easier and cheaper that buying and pressing on new bearings.
Faster too. I'd agree But per ph23vo if its an aftermarket sure grip they have a much smaller thrust spacer for some reason...my 3:73 i picked up would not adjust same as yours... just reinstalled my old 3:55 and its fine.. its 100% thrust spacer related ..good luck I have encountered a few, new aftermarket 10/12 bolt GM differentials that the C-clips for the axle retention wouldn't fit. So it may depend on what he's dealing with
