I never understood the attraction of no-prep, but...
people are paying to watch, and racers are participating and making money, and tracks are making money, so carry on.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Props to the Moron on the ATV that almost ran the Driver over.........and, of course, no helmet like the rest of the Meatheads ripping around at motorsport events posing as "safety" personal. It's kinda too bad he didn't dump it over and smash his head on the track to teach all the Kids in the stands what not to do. That Mustang Driver is one lucky Fella.

Happened a while back and yes, it was a no prep event.
Kinda like roundy round racing...most spectators are just waiting on the inevitable crash.

How fast and quick are they running in the 1/4 mile? That driver is very lucky in my opinion, the car protected him from injuries
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

Not sure on the mustang, but the truck is easily a low 8 sec ride. Faster on a prepped surface.

Its a human nature combination of jacked up adrenaline, tunnel vision, and hero need. LEO's have many documented cases with the same similarities inhigh stress first responder incidents.
Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.
