Guys have a question regarding hood fitment on a 1970 Challenger with a Ralley Hood. Just finished a 505 stroker build with 270 trickflow heads. Running a 6 pack intake. My engine builder says I will have fitment issues and says he can change heads to 240s. Anyone running a set of 270 heads with a 6 pack intake under a Ralley hood? There is a physical dimension difference according to AndyF in this article...... 240 vs 270

The 270’s are MW port size and have the intake ports slightly raised........ about the same as an Indy head. This moves the manifold up slightly.

Just guessing here but I would think that the 270 heads and an Indy Modman intake would make somewhat more horse power but be less pleasant to drive than the 240 heads and Edelbrock 6pk intake.
Height difference? Probably not much. Will it fit under your hood? No idea. Sorry, not much help.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

You're going to have issues mating a six pack intake to the TF270 heads.

One to play with to see how he could match up the 270s. Initial plan was for 240s. He has both heads in stock. He said he’s satisfied with the porting/matching with the 270s so we’ll give it a go and see what it makes on the Dyno. 10.5 to 1. 262/267 @50. 637/634 lift. 110 LSA installed at 107 or there about...can’t remember. The motor is built however the car is still on the rotisserie lol! Just about done metal work.

It was my understanding that this would involve significant welding to build up the top of the ports at the heads. Can you post a few pictures?
