I finally got the time to stuff some video bits together to show the clearancing needed when stuffing a 4.5" crank in a 440. Working full time, working my side business, and lots of medical drama (family and friends) I haven't had much spare time so the progress has been a bit slow.
Have a looksie if you're interested in a 540+ inch RB build.

Your build is along the same lines as mine, except you manned up for the bigger stroke than I was prepared to. I went with a 4.250 eagle crank, I am curious to what your block to counterweight clearance was with your crank, and did the crank look like the counterweights had been cut? I only had .005-.020 clearance between the counterweights and the block mostly in the area where the main webs were bulged out and block had some humps in it. I clearanced it to .060, suggested by reading old build posts on this and other forums. It was a lot metal to remove with a burr and hard to get it all cut without leaving ridges, so I used a angle grinder with a really large 1/4 thick disc on it, and did plunge cuts on it until I get a piece of .060 wire to fit all around the counterweights when they were turned upward into the block. It turned out nice and smooth with a radius similar to the counterweights.. The rods and bolts cleared everything else with the 4.250 stroke.
