I know, I know, it's a touchy subject. However, the car in question has the original fender tag, VIN, title, and radiator support numbers. The original tag is hard to read from the front, but can see it from the back. Where would one go to get a new tag made. It has the inspection marks (won't be on the repop) and was sanded when prepped for paint years ago instead of chemically stripping and the numbers are worn down. It's a legit car, just needs a tag made. It is a friend's car and not sure if he registered on here yet or not. It's a 1969 Plymouth from Lynch Rd if it matters.

Whatever you do, Do Not, post your VIN. Too many people will jump on you claiming you should do everything from a state issued VIN to scraping the car.... nobody said anything about a VIN tag, quoting for posterity just to make sure the record remains.
They say there are no such thing as a stupid question. They say there is always the exception that proves the rule. Don't be the exception.

Not to split hairs, but you are the first to talk VIN TAG. Cnxt just advised not to let the VIN be known, for obvious reasons on this forum.

Marti of the Ford Marti Reports does them. As good as they come, has original stamping equipment, probably doing them longer than anybody. And on another note, here is something that was posted on another forum. quote/.(Every time I post I usually get in trouble, that's why I usually just stay in the background, guess it's my own fault. But here goes, my question is why does everyone ( well most) have to have an individuals vin number ? Should only be important to the vehicle owner, DMV and insurance co. Sort of me asking you what yours SS number is. If you want to jump all over me fine, don't have a problem with that at all .) quote/.

Yes Dave Wise does then nicely. He will do them off broadcast sheets also but will add what car it is on the tag so it can be immediately seen that it is a repop and may not by 100%...

I have been in email contact with AG Backeast this morning and have his permission to post this notice:
"You can put on moparts that AGBACKEAST IS still making tags and has been offering them since 1982 for Mopars, Ford, and GM using 60-80 year old machines exactly as the manufacturers did it in the day. Currently there are 10 antique machines actively used to cover most all bases.
The turn around is usually 2 weeks or less which is believed to be significantly quicker than some others.
Due to an illness and subsequent death in the family the business was closed for a period of time last month which backed up orders and answers to emails. Possibly this is where it got reported erroneously tags were no longer being made. Nothing could be farther from the truth however.
Their new email address is AGBACKEAST@GMAIL.COM for anyone with an inquiry."
