I am restoring a 67 Charger Hemi, which has the Bendix 4 piston calipers. In my process of restoring the engine bay, I removed the brake booster , which had a very worn out rubber boot over the input push rod. I
removed the rubber boot only to find that the receptacle shaft ( control hub?) has a chunk missing. It appears to have been used like this for many years, which is why the rubber boot is worn from rubbing against the
broken piece of the hub.

My question is can I replace the hub that the plunger fits into or do I have to buy a new Brake Booster? And if so, what is a good replacement brake booster for my setup. Evidently I can't attach any photos
on this Forum.

Any suggestions are welcome. Thank you in advance.

You won’t find a repro brake booster to replace that, assuming you are going for a stock replacement.

I would suggest you get a hold of Wayne at the RamMan Inc. He rebuilt my Hemi booster, did a great job

Can you post a picture? Some parts to rebuild are hard to come by requiring a donor booster. Booster Dewey and Ram Man are folks that may have parts to rebuild yours.

IIRC that hub was used on a number of the Bendix dual diaphragm boosters. One of the rebuilders may have a hub salvaged from a parts booster. You'll just have to check. Google "power brake booster rebuilders" and you'll see quite a number of them listed.

I wouldn't recommend Cardone to rebuild this booster.

I've found parts for the Bendix single diaphragm boosters but nothing for the dual diaphragm. And I've looked. A lot.

He got advice on the b body board. He had pictures. He did not have a hemi booster to start with but the pictures were bad. He bought a repop setup from dr diff. As far as getting parts from the Ram man, I’m not sure why people still recommend that guy after all the negative press on him. I know a well known restore who bought some incorrect parts from him and has had a run a round for well over a year. I told him that I would pay the bail bond to get him out of jail when he meets Wayne at Carlise this year! I need to see the video, though!

Last year or the year before while at Carlisle I got to see a similar situation play out at the Ram Man tent. Someone was super pissed and you could hear them all over that end of the fairgrounds. Needless to say it seems to always be the same folks. Normally where there is smoke there is fire. Life is to short to deal with folks like that.
