At the end of February I tried to list an old auto audio book on Facebook Marketplace and got a notice that there was something 'wrong' with the listing. The 'review' request function didn't work, so after about 15 attempts and several emails that probably went nowhere I gave up. Last week, I got a notice from Facebook that someone was tampering with my account and I had to change my password, which I did. Several days ago I got a notice from them that I couldn't buy or sell on Marketplace pending their review, which would be within 24 hours. I have no idea what (if anything) I did wrong.

Has this happened to anyone else here and if so how did you resolve it? Is there a direct way to contact Facebook and talk to a person? Any ideas appreciated.

Thanks,
Harold

Google the specific issues you are having, #1 being exact reason they gave you for pulling your ad

Let me guess, the notice contained a link to change your PW, which you clicked on, right? My guess is you've been scammed and someone now has access to your account.

This happens frequently with things like Facebook, Hotmail, Gmail, etc.. You'll get a legit-looking notice such as you did and they'll include a link to take the action on. NEVER click the link. ALWAYS make any changes from your "account settings" in the app itself.

What you should do RIGHT NOW is go into your Facebook account settings and change your PW there.

As for your initial Marketplace issue, it was probably legit. But Marketplace have some rules about certain words and an ad for a "paint gun" could get flagged and cancelled because of the word "gun" (as an example).

I was concerned about whether the the notice was legit when I first got it, so I went into Facebook itself and the same notice was there.

Good luck on contacting them any way other than email down BTDT and wasted a LOT of time with no resolution. You could always start a new account under a different name for FB marketplace twocents beer

quite awhile ago I listed a pair of black Adidas with red laces. They were a black sued leather and bright red laces, with some fancy logo I guess they were a limited edition shoe or something.

They were a good size 19, but just too narrow for my feet.

I tried to list them on Marketplace several times, but Facebook kept flagging the post because they claimed I was trying to sell "racist" material.

I asked for reviews several times, but never did get any reply, and never was able to list the shoes.

I just wanted to give someone else a chance to use them, since good looking size 19 shoes are not easy to come by.

Size 19? And I though I was impressive with my size 16H hooves.

Yeah, facebook is terrible, almost impossible to list stuff there, like cars and such.

On Farce book you can not list a color in your ad. You can show a clear picture, but can't list a color, especially black, red, white, brown, or orange and probably blue as well anymore. When you list a color, they automatically assume your talking about a people group and you can't be doing that. Censorship in rouge going on there. Gene

About an hour ago, I received a message from Facebook saying Marketplace has been reinstated. Voila! No explanation given.

Guys, to find Mopar specific classifieds, you need to join a group that deals specifically with them. If you're just hunting thru the general FB marketplace, you'll get no where fast.

That's the key with selling anything on market place, join a group that reflects what you're selling.

I sell more than car parts, so I've joined a couple of local groups that are basically an online yard sale for this immediate area. With a few exceptions, I've sold every item within a couple of hours of posting.

FB market place is far from perfect, but with a little thought (and patience) it can be made to work.

Getting back to problems with market place.........

I almost got shut down for trying to sell 'pornographic material' (their words). Say what? I had some old health/workout magazines (Men's Health for example) that I was trying to sell before trashing them. Health and working out is pornography?

They didn't ban me, but they wouldn't change their stand on the magazines. realcrazy shake_head

When you go to FBM, you need to pull up 'groups' under the categories. Find something that is close to you.

When you go to FBM, and you see a pic with JUST a city, then its on MP alone. If you see a pic with a city AND a group under it, its listed thru that group. You can get to that group thru the listing if all else fails. You can list an item in more than one place at a time.

For example, here's a snip of my local FBM group listing just to show the variety of stuff posted.

Oh, and make sure your phone # is NO WHERE on FB.

I've told this story many times. My (now ex) Wife had set me up on FB when things went sideways with my Dad, to 'keep in touch with family'.

I never gave it two thoughts. I rarely posted anything.

Fast forward about 8 years, I'm taking a closer look at my FB account and updating a few things, when I discover she had listed my phone number under personal info.

I deleted the number.

Almost immediately the amount of spam calls I was getting dropped by a HUGE amount. I get less calls now per MONTH than what I was getting before per DAY.

Be smart about what info you put on FB.

I never give out my real number. Any kinda web portal that demands to have it, gets a version of it. Hell, I didn't even give last bs retirement job my right number. Like I needed those clowns calling me up to work OT.
