422 events have you run a couple of time trials then you must dial to the even tenth lower, say you best time was 10.38 you must dial 10.30..They are not set classes like CC Events and NMCA.

My point was its still a bracket race so what Johnny's car(JR) was running really didn't matter in the loss.

its harder to get a good R/T against a 2 step, they are on the rev. limiter vs. leaving with a converter and footbraking plus being a much slower car, it doesnt have time to react like a faster car.
no excuses, my 63 just wasnt leaving hard, i didnt come up on the converter like i usually do.i had my worst 60 foots ever with it yet best ET and mph. go figure. i'll get it figured out for next weekend at atco.

Actually if your running a converter and its a 5 tenths tree you have the advantage over a stick shift.

gues im getting old then. the 63 just wouldnt react yesterday off the line.
i was cutting .009-.012 lights last nov. at atco in my 65 dodge.
with a .171 light ,im dead in the water.at least i didnt red light.

Is that a pro tree? I can go red on a 5 tenths pro tree on the footbrake with my car and it 60's same as yours on muscle

That's a problem when you own several race cars...I would drive the 65'car and get dialed in on the tree with it, then I would jump in the 67' tube chassis S/G car and red light bad..Every car has it's own little quirks.

DOUG,im still waiting on the results myself. i had a very long tow home so i left a few minutes after i got beat.needless to say i was a little upset, i couldnt cut a decent light with the 63.
i just didnt want to lose to a redlight.

thanks for posting the results. R/T were all over the place. some had really good lights then next round not so good. all in all, it was a great turnout.not bad for 1st time out this year. i really like cecil county dragway.

Those pictures were great to see some of the nss cars that I ran against back in the old nmca/nsca days. I see mac raced the OLD RELIABLE car did they have a pro nss class? How fast did he go? Or did he change it to a nss car? Chris I know what your going threw racing muliple cars. My car has a trans brake and I have trouble not red lighting and then I get in Lens car and foot brake and I have to learn how to drive all over again. I am sure with more seat time this year we will do much better.

I think its funny that 7 second dragsters and door cars can stop at Island but a 9 second B body can`t!

sorry i went 2 rounds including a bye run. hope to get better R/T this sunday. going to go up on the converter more to get that better reaction time. i felt unfamiliar in a car that i have owned for some time since i havent raced it in almost 2 years.just gotta get some more seat time in it. i hope my 60 foot pick up this weekend.they have never been this bad.

That would seem right. The dragsters running 7's going 200 + vs a b-body going 9's at 140 + have a lot more weight to get slowed down. A dragster can weigh anywheres from 1400lbs to 2200lbs as with a Super Stock legal B-body tipping the scales at over 3400 lbs.
