Hey guys...
I know that some of you have more information and experience in decoding a build sheet. I am buying a 1972 Plymouth Cuda 340 numbers everything except color.

What I need is to know what wheels came on the car with the W23 road wheels 70/71 number on the build sheet? It is a friend of mine and he is asking what I would rather have, it currently has Magnum 500 wheels and he has rally's too. Obviously I would rather have the original wheels whatever that would be?

What does W23 road wheels 70/71 mean on the broadcast sheet and fender tag?

Thank you guys for the answer in advance! Go Mopar or go home!
Chris

W23 are the magnum 500 road wheels with the 14" trim rings. That W23 is only on the broadcast sheet, "W" codes are not shown on the fender tag.

Does this help answer the question? it has both 23 for road wheels and 24 for wheel cover that is why its confusing.

W23 = chrome style ROAD wheels 14x5.5" wide (AKA "Magnum 500")

the "24" under wheel covers is for the part # 2944424 trim ring

Definitely stick with the Mopar Road Wheels and factory trim rings. What paint color was it originally?

Chestnut, never seen that colour before, obviously introduced in 1972. Hopefully he will post some pictures of it.

This used to be a great link that showed all available colors on E-bodies. It was broken down by year with pictures of each. Now it's not working. What happened?

That was my old page. I no longer had the time to update things so I passed control of everything over the Barry and the Challenger T/A registry in case they ever decided to do anything with it.

For various reasons I have pretty much dropped out of the old car hobby. I do check in here once in a while in case there is something I can answer.

HT8 is "dark tan metallic" in the dodge line and chestnut metallic in the Chrysler/plymouth line.

Dark tan metallic is a color that pops up pretty often. Especially on C bodies.
Here is an HT8 1972 NYB 2 door.
