Need a set of 4.600 bore .027 or .040 thick or anything in between for a RB

Just for suggestions if Jegs or Summit doesn't have them, I have bought Cometic from Ohio Crankshaft and also from Indy Cylinder Head. Both places had 4.50 in stock. Give them a try. Birdtracker

I'm thinking you have a lot of chamfer at the top of a 4.500" bore? You might be looking for unobtainium.

No it not the bore. it is the camber in the head. they make 4.600 but cosmetic gaskets must be shut down. they say aug before you can get them . 4.500 is right on the edge of the camber ..I don't like it. to close for me.

All I could find in .030's were 2 4.380 bore that summit had. I had to get them ups'd to the border, and the border shipper has been sitting on them for 2 weeks. Hard to beleive that there is only one major mls performance gasket company making the bulk of the gaskets.

Check Flatout Gasket. Summit shows a ship date of 6/1. Maybe buying direct would be faster.

Ok

I don't know what happened to Cometic but with them not shipping the racing season might get shorter. Almost every race engine that goes thru the shop I work with gets Cometic gaskets. No gaskets, no engines.

Check the TricK flow gaskets as they are Cometics in Trick Flow packaging. Also Felpro makes a .40 and a .051 in the big block but only for the smaller bore stuff that I can find (they are cheaper than the Cometics) IN the bore size your looking for I got nothing.

Might try some of the copper companies like Clark. We have had issues with cometic for awhile. They also now seem reluctant to any "custom" stuff as well. I have had to use Clark more than once.

I spent a couple of months getting some 4.5 in .080 Cometic.
I called them and was told they make them "to order".

I'm seriously considering to get my heads and block oring'd and just use a copper gasket. A little Hylomar around any liquid passages seals them up.
The Hylomar is what most of the alky guy's use. I have used it in the past when I ran copper gasket and had no leaks.

I run 15 lbs of boost with the cometics and have never had a head gasket problem that is the only reason I'm hesitant to switch

My .02

Looks like Mr. Gasket has some stock on a few sizes.

Did you speak to anyone at Cometic? I've had very good response with getting gaskets direct.

When I called they were working short days, and using less people.

Most recent set I ordered direct from Cometic took 5 weeks to get. Not to bad considering my pistons took 10 weeks to get from CP
