I noticed a completely different grommet on this 72 rallye 4 speed speedo cable. Nothing like any other 71-74 b body I've seen. Was that a certain year thing or 4 speed thing or what? the grommet is much longer, and is also wider. The regular one I'm familiar with is also pictured.

I replaced the speedometer cable on my 72 Road Runner GTX last summer. It had the short grommet. I am assuming that it was the original cable. Cable I replaced it with came out of an 72 Satellite Sebring 318 with 904 transmission. Also had short grommet.

when i grow up i want to be just like sunroofgtx, god please don't let me grow up.

So after more looking, I found stamped on the cable, stewart warner 3592360. Looks original, due to the many burns from exhaust and/or headers.
And stamped on the grommet is 3593460. That's the long grommet .
