Im putting a 69 road runner together to run low 11s/high 10s. Im removing all of the stock rear suspension and 8 3/4 rear end and am replacing it with a Dana 60, Caltrac Mono Leaf springs, and CalTrac bars. I plan on running a 29" tall tire...which ride height do I need? Stock ride height or +1?

I used Cal-Trac +1 mono leafs on my 68 Coronet R/T and the stance is great. I originally ordered the +1 shocks but only had about 1" compression and had to send them back and they swapped out a Std set. Hoosier 29.5 x 12 slicks

I have Calvert monos at +1” on my b body because i run stock wheelwhels and fit 11” slicks on there and i wasn’t 100% sure if they would fit with stock height springs. I do like the stance with them, but i think the stock height springs would look just as good.

BTW, boy that Coronet R/T above is absolutely gorgeous. Love the color combo!

I have a 69 RR. I installed split monos +1 and cal tracs. I found the height a little too tall and added a 1 inch spacer. I had a 30x9 slick under it and it fit without the the 1" spacer, and fit well. I now have a 31" tire with the spacer. It's a wee bit tight. I also have sliders; no shackles...fwiw.

My next plan is to install wooden spoke wheels of a horse drawn buggy.

I like the -1 mono leaf, less weight to transfer from the front of the car.

Thanks for the compliments on the car,I've owned it and beat the living snot out of it for 40 years. Thats the original color B9 blue. Here's some pic's with the 31" street tires and with 31" slicks.

Moparrob68...beautiful R/T!...what size rear street tires are you running? Have your springs been moved inboard?

I mini tubbed it and and sectioned the wheel well lip 1.5" forward when I replaced the quarters. Springs relocated. Street tires are 31 x 16.5 M/T sportsman pro's on 15 x 12", 7.75 backspace custom Cragars. 31 x 13 M/T ET Drag slicks on 15 x 12, 7.5BS Welds. I bought the Welds used with the Hoosier 29.5 X 12 slicks and ran them for a weekend. Car ran the same 9.85 @ 136mph with both size slicks but it looks so much meaner with the 31 x 13's

Here is a '69 RR with -1 rear segment. Also has a 1 inch lowering block. A lot depends on where the springs are mounted so don't forget the eye height.

If I was you I would switch to ladder bars and coil overs now with the Dana up twocents
Cal Tracs were developed to get around the NHRA rules in Stock by John Calvert years ago, why use a band aid on leaf springs when ladder bars are way better work shruggy

On a street car, I think the Cal tracs would be much more forgiving without the binding associated with ladder bars. Also a lot less to cut to get them in. If that matters to a person.

The OP didn't say street. He said low11s high 10s. If you don't back half car I don't see a lot of cutting. Remove old suspension weld in front ladder bar mount and upper shock mounts. That's my plan.

My old pump gas Duster with ladder bars and coil overs(15.0 inch extended with 7.0 inches of travel with 300 Lbs. rated springs) with a diagonal link never bound up or did anything worth complaining about in my opinion shruggy I drove it on the street for over 3000 miles and put hundreds of passes on it, love it thumbs You need to keep in mind that I'm a drag racer and love going fast and quick, not looking for a Lincoln or Rolls Royce ride either shruggy
That rascal would hook up in a mud puddle in a rain storm also devil thumbs whistling
AKA aside, I loved that set up up

I know people run them on the street all the time- but as you said Cab, they have some limits.
