Does anyone have any advice for what’s going on here.

Gas and temp gauges work only (sweep up) with the headlight switch pulled out into the on position. This was not an issue when I put the car away last fall for the winter. This is problem number one.

Number two....The year prior, I installed a new turn signal switch and when I completed that job, I found that my tail lights were on all the time and I had to turn my dimmer switch down to shut them off when cruising, brake lights still worked fine. This problem went away on its own later in the year. I never did find the issue. It may be back now, I’ll have to check. Have not driven the car yet, still in storage. I just changed the trans fluid and had the gauge issues mentioned above,

So I have had two issues now, can this be chalked up to a bad Chineese turn signal switch? Do the circuits meet each other? I want to say I got it from a well known vendor here and it was around $75 (repop).

grounds can cause all kinds of issues when they go bad.
how stiff is the dash wiring harness ? when the issues occur, have you reached under and wiggled the harness ?
as for the turn signal switch, how is the connection at the base of the column where it connects to the harness ? look closely at the terminals in the connector block for corrosion or looseness, as well as insulation cracks [possibly as far as a couple inches from the connector block].

I think you might have the wrong headlight switch.
If it started when you did that, I would look their first.
if you still have the old one, I would reinstall and see if both issues persist, depending on what was wrong with the old one.

The headlight switch was never changed....

the only place the headlight and turn signal switches meet [if i remember correctly...... ] would be where the harness connects at the kick panel [or thereabouts] to go to the rear of the car.
the turn signal switch powers only the bright filaments of the bulbs, front and rear. [with the rear going through the brake light switch]
if the rheostat of the headlight switch controls the rear [running/tail] lights, something is not right with the [headlight] switch, the switch plug, or the harness attaching to the switch [which could be most anywhere the wires are close to one another, think cracking insulation].
mr. "slow man at work" has pulled much hair out at times trying to figure out "simple" [] wiring problems.

sorry read that wrong. Turnsignal switch then. or it was wired wrong.

Anything is possible, it was the only one listed for a 67 on his site. Wiring was just plug and play with the harness. I’ll look into that as well, thanks.

over the years, i have occasionally found new wiring harnesses that have a couple of pins switched around.
not often, but sometimes it does happen.
i have even done it myself "fixing" things !

it has been a while so maybe I remember it wrong, but turn signal switches aren't plug and play.
you have to fish the loose bundle of wires through the column and them put them into the connector.
