I have a early (SPD Oct 27 1968) 1969 Dart GTS 383 4 speed car that was a low option car SO CA desert car, it is not restored but is in good condition with around 80.000 total miles on the chassis and front suspension. It has been raced and is not completely stock, the paint and interior are nice but not the original colors. It was a F8 body paint and matching interior, console with a tach on it (both missing when I got it in 1991) 5 or 7 watt AM radio, heater, disc brakes and most of the standard GTS package. It is Hemi Orange now with Legendary white seat covers front and back, better than stock black carpet, new Legendary proper green color head liner installed, the dash pad needs restoring or replacing due to SO CA sunlight cracking it badly. motor, clutch disc, pressure plate and throw out bearing all have less than 3000 miles on them since putting it back together to sell it for street use. New Mopar XLHD Leaf springs moved into the rear sub frames, polish centerlines front and rear. New tires and 3.0 inch exhaust and so on.
No rust anywhere, I have lots of old OEM restoration parts that were missing when i bought it the first time( I was the third owner in 1991), good condition GTS inner door badges, automatic console, restore 5 watt AM Radio and so on, I have not found a original good working Mopar console mounted tach or the original style console Hurst stick shift handle yet either whiney
It is stored in my front garage out of the weather and my wife wants me to sell it so she can put her newer city van in the garage instead of parking it outside.
I haven't driven it 1200 miles in the last 13 yrs so I might as well sell it to someone who will use and enjoy it.
I'm a drag racer as well as a Mopar engine assembler and builder, no real machine work by me. I'm not a show or street car guy either so it is time to let it go now and focus on my new drag car devil
I am asking what you guys think it should be worth, I don't want to screw anyone but I don't want to give it away either help

Thanks in advance for any help on finding out what a decent, fair price would be for this car work

Needs to be put in the WIW section. So F8 with an F3 interior? Do you have a fender tag and can you post it if you do? Broadcast sheet? Any original parts on the engine especially 893 oil pan, correct manfifolds, 065 radiator, matching numbers? Makes a HUGE difference in price... wave

I have looked at your ads a few times Cab Burge- I like modified cars so much of that doesn't bother me. The orange with green interior commits you to changing something. Am I right that the doors, etc are not cut in? Are the fenderwells intact? I forgot. It is certainly complete and rust free so miles ahead of any project but I was a bit scared off by your ask due to the fact that it still really needs to come apart. Not criticizing at all- just giving feedback.

The original fenderwells in the car where cut for fenderwell headers long before I got it the first time back in 1991.
I bought a complete inner front clip from the firewall forward off of a 1967 4 speed Dart to have them to replace the cut up ones after buying it back in 2008 or so.
It does have the original fendertag but no broadcast sheet that I remember seeing. It had the original front bucket seats and rear bench seat with the stock covers. I don't remember seeing the broadcast sheet in the rear seat springs when I took them to the upholstery shop to have the Legendary seat cover kit put on them shruggy
I had bought the car thinking it was a original GT car minus the motor and tranny , not a GTS. It has a the GT emblems on the trunk panel and on the 1967 black inner front door panels have them on it also, someone had mess with this car before I got it shruggy
I sold it to a friend in 2002 and took most of the race parts off of it and put the current 383 and 4 speed back in it and the interior to make it street legal so he could drive it instead of racing it.
I found out it was a GTS when he came over to pick it up and we decoded the fendertag shockwhiney shruggy
I bought it back from him several years later when he offered it to me, I've been buying original parts to help restore it but I have several other projects I want to finish first so it is available now.
It runs and drives really nice, it is good muscle car devil boogie
The door jams were never painted to match the exterior.
I should try to find out how many H code 4 speed GTS cars were built work help grin
I have a bunch of extra original parts that go with it also thumbs

I remember you had it listed here for sale some years ago, how much were you asking for it then? Now it would be double that price. up

784 383 4-speed Dart GTS's in 1969. I would say $25-28K with the NOM engine and trans and wrong paint as long as the specific GTS parts are there. twocents

My friend has one. It's B5 blue with a black interior. It's a matching numbers car. We just put the driveline back in it,and it's being prepped for paint. It's a cool car, like a 3/4 scale Road Runner. Sorry everytime I post pics on here lately they come out sideways!

I think Cab has advertised it at $25K for some time and it hasn't sold- hence the question. I think you need more pics Rhinodart- I went back and found one of the old ads online. Again, I like the car but it has green dash, green upper door frames, black door panels (wrong year) and white seats so even though they are all in relatively good shape, you have to start making decisions on color. Underhood is not well detailed. There is a gold '68 383/auto (I know, not the same) that is restored but no undercarriage detailing for $28K. I would keep the car day 2 so cut fenderwells aren't a big deal but it does change the value. A restorer would have a lot of work to do.

For what its worth, I think $20K but then again, prices for everything have bumped up in the last 6 months it seems.

Thanks, I found the matching numbers 69 Dart GTS in an auto trader magazine in 1985 one day when we were eating lunch at work. We went and bought the car that night! He paid $900.00 for a 383 4 speed GTS! Those were the days. As far as the Dart GTS in this thread, I don't think that he is too far off the mark for a real 383 4 speed GTS. The good thing is that you can tweak this one too your liking without the purists going too crazy! I would put the fender well headers back in since it is already cut for them, raise the front end, and go with skinnys in the front and wide rear tires and go with the gasser look!
