Finally finishing up a long drawn out 434 W9/Ritter block build and sent the Dart out to have custom headers built. Trying to decide on a primary tube length. Was thinking 32"-36" 1 7/8 to 2" step headers with 3 1/2" collector.
Car specs:
72 Dart Bracket car 3200 lb foot brake 727 Auto 5000 stall 4.88 Dana 12.2x31.25 slick
434 Ritter block 13.5 comp 280 dur .730 lift roller
W9's fully CNC ported TI valves
Mopar "420" fully ported intake 950 ProMax carb
7500 RPM shift point???

Should we make the tubes on the longer side to make torque down low for a 2000 RPM foot brake launch?

PipeMax is your friend. Doesn't cost that much and it provides a lot of useful information.

IMO, the tubes are too small and too long. You are 434 inches.

I agree with Andy. Get PipeMax and run it. I’m betting you’ll find I’m pretty close.

Just because you think it won't make it true. Horsepower is KING. To dispute this is stupid. C. Alston

I'm thinking 2.0 stepped to 2 1/8 or maybe 2.0 step to 2 1/4 inch primary around 25 to 28 inch long with a 4.0 collector 12 to 18 inch long twocents
There is no bottom end below 5000 RPM, mid range yes thumbs work

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

What did you end up with for tube size?

I provided a build sheet and Greg at REF built these in a few hours. Basically 2” primaries with a 3.25 merge 4” collector. Gone 9.11 but I am the SLOKID in the W8 circles
