Time has come for a new one. My 7-8 year old repop is falling apart.

Any suggestions who has these?

Thanks!

Which one was is it? Wood or the pebble textured plastic/rubber one?

What company/ manufacture was the repop ?

Pics of what happened?

As far as I know there is only the one company making wheels . Thats PG Classic.
So if you buy another repop it comes from said supplier

having said that Ive not heard any failing, BUT I dont know many have bought one either.

Previous owner of my car almost did ,,,,,Luckily for me he found an nos one instead. AND it the correct translucent red color.
Repops are solid plain red

I'll post pics once I take it off. It has cracked on each side of each of the three spokes down at the base. It also appears that the plastic part of the wheel is separating from the metal center hub.

It is a manual steering car, so that means really cranking on it when the car is still, which of course I try not to do, but it is disappointing that it has broken this badly after what is probably 10k miles of use or less.

It's the pebble textured plastic one.

By the way, I tried some repairs on this, didn't work.

If anyone wants it, it's yours for the price of shipping.

Stinks that they are cracking after 7 or so years. But in reality, I would guess originals started to show wear and tear and cracks when they were 8 years old. My 72 Dart I bought in 84 had a wheel worn out, and a cracks. And that was from a well taken care of car. I agree that the manual steering really puts some stress on the wheel.

I bought a 10 year old 1970 Road Runner in Phoenix in either 1979 or 1980. The steering wheel was cracked in so many places that it made yours look perfect.

You are in California, not Maine. The Sun probably had an outsize effect on your wheel.

No, it does stink. Think about the use of this, garaged, probably 10k miles on the wheel, something like that. That's nothing in terms of use of a car driven daily for that many years.

And I've seen plenty of wheels cracked at the rim. Obviously this has happened to OEM wheels, but I've never seen it.
