Now for the questions?

What car is they on ( 69 Gtx or 68 runner ) and why SO BIG?

If an exhaust valve is approx. 1.81 diameter in a good wedge motor then 2.00 ‘OD’ pipe should be plenty?
Maybe 1-7/8 od is ok too in most cases, or am I missing something???

Would this design work my 71 Gtx (512, 440-1) and how much for another set ( please ) lol...

563 CID and 440-1 CNC 345 heads, I don't know the specifics of the build but that foundation can easily make well over 800 horse. Regardless of the valve size his headers are not too big.
As far as 1-7/8" headers, I don't think I'd run them on anything more than a warmed 383

My personal goal, is to make 850+hp, if possible. Compression will be 13:1 or more, and I'd like to get as aggressive with the cam as possible, with 1.6 rockers. I just picked up a 440-3X intake, hoping that will help the combo. Time will tell, and it is what it is.

This would be your intake on steroids. Long ways out, but if we go to CFR, it will be for the Night of Fire.

Not really. The 440-3X intake is bigger than your 440-3 intake. Plenum is bigger, making the runners a little longer. I can post a picture of the differences, when I get home tonight.

Ted, here is the difference between the -3, and the 3X. Here you can see the plenum size difference. the 3X is over a inch taller then the -3.

Headers are completely done. Finished welding the collectors on, adding a couple V band clamps, and EGT bungs in each cylinder. A coworker did all of the tube butt welds, and I took care of the V bands, and collectors. I'm more than happy with how they turned out. It will be a while before they get installed into the car, but they are one big piece of the puzzle that is completed.

Can you comment on how much you have in the primary tube material? How much more for SS over mild steel in the same size?

I ordered all my stainless tubing from www.stainlessheaders.com, and have around $850 into material. Add in flanges, collectors, V band clamps, O2 sensor bungs, and EGT bungs, and I have around $1300 into the headers all together. Spendy, but they should last a life time.

I never really priced out mild steel, so not sure of the savings.
