In the past here on Moparts (2007? maybe) I've seen posts from guys who had made close looking copies of the 15x7", #2944450 1970 - 1971, or #3580070 1972 - 1973, Double Drop Mopar steel wheels that accept the Dodge Red Ring & Plymouth Stainless Steel Dog Dish hub caps. Instead of butchering up a real set of original 15x7" Mopar Rallye wheels to accomplish this to get the correct Double Drop width with the correct Mopar 4.25" back spacing. I've heard guys have used vintage relatively cheap 15x7" Oldsmobile SS II Rallye wheels & the plentiful 14x6" Mopar black steel wheels. If they are an experienced welders with a jig, They can cut the center out of the Olds 15x7" wheel. Then cut the center out of the Mopar 14x6" black steel wheel. Then that 14x6" Mopar center can be trimmed to fit and welded into the remaining 15x7" Oldsmobile SS II Rallye wheel blank. See the Olds 15x7 wheel picture below, See the Mopar 14x6 wheel picture below. Then see the double picture below with Olds made wheel on the Left and a real #2944450 wheel on the right. My question is. Are there any people on here (Moparts) that are experienced in, or capable of preforming this procedure at a reasonable price? Thank You! Chris Evans 937-270-6120
Or, PM me to get my e-mail to send your example pictures to.

Even if someone still does that, would the price be any less than just calling up Tony’s parts and ordering up a set of the 2944450 repro wheels he sells?

Thanks! I know about Tony's Parts repos. Not my intent here. I have many Olds wheels & Mopar wheels collecting dust and want to make use of them.

Also - Mopar "plentiful" 14x6" wheels? They were tough to get 20 years ago. I had no idea the 450 wheels were even reproduced. IF they are good wheels, $950.00 for a set is a steal.
