Not mine and a clone, but pretty close in options to my own R/T.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/254927908788?ViewItem=&vxp=mtr&item=254927908788

The seller states that this car was created from a '71 Charger 500 with a 4spd. The VIN fragment he entered in the ad is for an "L" 383-2bbl, which surprised me because I thought that it should have been the HP version of this engine instead.

My question is whether you could order that 2bbl engine with a 4spd, or were you just stuck with the 3spd and auto as choices? I am supposing that Ma Mopar would let you do it, but I don't think I've ever seen one ordered that way. shruggy

I’d remove the Super Bee decals/emblems and drive it...

ALL the 1970 & 1971 B & E-bodies with the 383 2bbl "L"-code engine are 727 automatic (NO other OPTION)

I like it. I don't like rear spoilers generally speaking, and I think this car would look a lot better without. I also think if the body looks good in person, might not be a bad price if it sells at starting bid or at least close. I really like the '71's and a 440 sixpak and not having to pay the price for an original would be nice!

Facts are stubborn things.

Thanks, and that helps confirm why I've never seen one.

Of course, from the way the eBay ad is written, the seller never actually specified if the '71 donor was an original 4-spd car. It just says that one was used in the build.

Actually, he does imply its an original 4 speed car.

"The car started out as a 71 Charger 500 383 4 spd in hemi orange"

It was on eBay 3/4 times last fall, same starting bid as the previous auction last week (35K) Last week it had 3 bids & was reserve met @ 37,500 but then 2 bids were retracted?

Nice car overall, I'd drive it...

Nothing wrong with a clone, as long as he is not trying to pass it off as an original bee. Looks like a fun car.

Car is back on eBay and the seller has updated the ad to reflect that the donor for this project was a 2bbl automatic, and not an original 4-spd.

Yes Jon, it is a nice car. If I didn't already own an orange/orange '71, I'd be seriously thinking about this one...
