Mopar sunroof registry does show 1971 JS23 Challenger R/T models as 27 vehicles built with a power sunroof., also says: units shipped to Canada: "3 known"...is this car one of the 3 for Canadian market?? shruggy
Seller doesn't show ANY pics of mentioned fender tag or broadcast sheet. And most other pics shown are lousy. So without any current visual proof..hard to say if it's the real deal. My brother has a Plum Crazy 340 '71 Challenger currently. It originally was a Tawny Gold 318 car from the factory. But he has aquired a complete roof panel from a Challenger with the factory sunroof, and someday he plans to R/R and replace it with this factory sunroof/roof panel he has. Along with many many other factory 1971 Challenger "options" he has hunted down and bought, over the years such as (complete power window setup, rear glass/plug for SE window, wide front hood-fender trim moldings, factory cassete deck, RimBlow wheel, etc etc.) So his plan is to have a '71 Challenger with as many factory options, as you you could have on a car! I only hope if it ever gets finished, he doesn't try to pass his car off as a legit factory built car...but knowing him, he just might do that. shruggy rolleyes

My friend had a triple black 71 Challenger R/T sunroof car. It was a 383 automatic car,it had the formal back window, and the wide chrome moldings on the hood and fenders. There was another 71 Challenger R/T sunroof car in a junkyard in Rhode Island. Red 340 car, someone cut the whole roof off the car.

I like this one as well, hard to find a sunroof car at all, let alone a 71 R/T.
Granted the engine is an NOM 72, and stripes were added. But if tag and buildsheet check out with the rest of the options it's pretty desirable in my opinion.
Pricewise, would depend on what else you'd find upon inspection, but feel the $65K CAD (currently about $51K USD ) or Make Offer the seller has used is probably a good starting point.
Personally I would want everything in working order (Cruise, A/C, radio and whatever else needs attention ) before purchasing. Easy to drop a lot into the car right off the bat.

Very cool, sunroof AND a formal roof car with wide chrome moulding AND all black. 1 of 1 I'd say and pretty desirable in my book wink

Mine's not a sunroof car ( I wish) but is a rare formal roof 71 R/T .

Here's the tags and sheet from a previous seller. Very cool and rare car that is loaded with factory options. Click on the fender tag and you can rotate it so it's right side up

Do you see anything that confirms the sunroof? I also believe that some metal work has been done in the past and was wondering if anyone knew the quality of work that had been done. I am going to look at another car Saturday and then I seen this and it has my attention. But don’t want to buy something blind, as I got bit pretty good a couple of years ago.

Wow, that car is loaded !

And yet a stripe delete car.

I believe the C in the VON denotes the sun roof.

Question is, does it have all those options still on the car?
Love the "black/white houndstooth" interior, doesn't appear to have it now though.

The Vehicle Order Number on this car is G00274 - which denotes the factory sunroof install. I do not have a whole lot of history on this car. I first spotted it for sale in June 2018 on the Cars-On-Line website out of Mitchell, South Dakota - asking price at the time was 40K. I have a screen shot of the ad if anyone is interested.

I know it's kind of hard to make out but on the build sheet in the M section it looks like a 1 is in the sun roof box. M51 for the sun roof

Only 6 of the 8 pictures are useful. You would think the seller would invest just a little more time rolleyes

V68?

Odd that it would have body side moulding. Maybe dealer install.

Probably got stuffed in the rear at some point.

Later (73/74) rear valance, no shock mount holes in trunk pan (and GM splatter paint), rear right side trim cockeyed.

Pictures are horrid.

Joe - Your car trumps this sunroof car due to it's rare color combo and superb condition by a long shot in my opinion.
