It doesn’t look like a bad car from the pictures. The paint on the underside including no pinch weld blackout, along with the 3 speaker dash when it’s not optioned on the car stick out to be the biggest flaws I see. Personal inspection always required, but if it’s a solid car the asking price isn’t too out of line.

T/A's and AAR's should be in the 100's.

That Guy is giving that car away. It's a very good deal. twocents

They made lots of them.

Do you believe all 6-pack cars should be in 100’s?

Compared to the some of the numbers being asked for Boss 302's and Z28's, yes.

You definitely can't buy a Trans Am project and restore it for less than what He's asking.

Look at the latest auctions, T/A's and AAR's are down across the board... scope

Not really a comparison is it?

You go right ahead and buy that Mustang for 60 grand of which they made 7000 of them.

For $15,000.00 more I'll take one of the 2400 T/A's all day long.

A Challenger T/A sold this winter for $156,000.00 at Mecum.

We all know auction sales can be all over the board and don't tell the whole story.
One idiot with too much money in his pocket, too many drinks in his belly, and too big an ego in his head might bid a car way past a reasonable valuation.
Auction houses shill bid cars up in hopes that "one buyer" will bid and overpay due to their tricks.
Auction houses show cars sold at high prices, then interestingly the same car shows up at another of their auctions a few months later. Hmmm, did it really sell before??
People here used to call Barret Jackson "Cirque de Sand" which summed it up pretty well.

What if I'd rather have a Mustang than a Challenger? laugh

The price would've been double that at B-J this past weekend. They must have broke out the good booze, based on the results I saw.

Also, a post above mentioned the dash frame was changed to a 3-speaker unit. So you're guaranteed that the VIN tag has been removed at least once. Are T/As unique enough they can be ID'd without the VIN? (I honestly don't know)

No argument here, it also has a lot to do with who is sponsoring those auctions which explains the ridiculous prices for z28's and Boss 302's.

My original point is people need to stick to their Mopar guns when it comes to pricing against comparison cars from Brand X's. I would never price one of My Mopars less than an inferior Mustang, camaro, Galaxie, impala, or Ford/gm Truck.

Legendary Motorcar did an entire episode on the Challenger T/A, Boss 302 and z28 in a head to head comparison. Peter Klutt beat the daylights out of all of them in the quarter mile, slalom and braking and the T/A won almost all of the categories. I wish that video was posted somewhere, at any rate, the Challenger T/A is a better car and should be worth more.

BUUUUT its not a Boss 302 or is it a Z28. No logic in that.

Would you switch brands because one was a bit faster or cornered better?

Looks nice. It is missing the original nut/studs on the inner fenders.

It’s basically a stock 340 4-bbl with an added six pack intake and 3 carbs.

How much horsepower gain do you except from and intake and carb swap?

The offset rockers, T/A block, moved over push rod hole in cylinder head. Don’t add in horsepower in unmodified form.

Thank you.

Exactly.

Going by private sales and verified transactions is much closer to reality.

You are the one that brought up the high prices of comparable Ford and GM Trans Am cars. Now you change your mind?

There’s Boss 302’s advertised at $100K at dealers and $60K at private sales. Same kind of fake disparity with the Mopars. .

Good gawd man, I laid it out and spoon-fed it to you. rolleyes

Either you are really bad with numbers or you don't bother reading and comprehending what's typed out: which is it? What part of a $75,000.00 car being a better buy than a $100,000.00+ auction/dealer/collector car don't you understand? pity
