I like the car very much, but someone's been watching too much TV. I continue to be amazed at people trying to get absolute top dollar for cars that have so many little things missing/done badly/incorrect, showing wear, etc.

I once owned a red one with maroon + white interior. Very cool cars. That has some wear and tear so he is a little high on the price, imo.

Asking prices on stuff has jumped a lot in the last few months. Some of the stuff makes me laugh it's so far out of reality.

Used to be 340 a-bodies were like 25-ish and now people want that out of 318 cars.

Idiots on CL want 300-500 for smallblock chevy and ford core engines. I can still go to the pick and pull and grab one for 175.

iagree
But doubt they're selling

Back about 78 or so I pulled a 68 500 Maroon convert out of a local yard in Calif. 383 4 barrel car, white top. put a used 383 in it and drove it for awhile and then sold it frown

Doesn't say if it's an original 4-speed BB car, which would be pretty rare in a 500.
So I'd guess it's a swap and non-#s.
I would think anyone advertising a Mopar nowadays would show the fender tag & trunk floor.
Not to mention a comment on any rust and/or any body repairs, especially if there's none.
Doesn't look horrible, just unfinished and needing at least some interior work.

So it's against your rules to have more than one make of car?

Uh....No. I personally have four different makes of cars. Normally, Chevy guys know virtually zippo about Mopars. They tend to drift to the more simplistic side of things.

I don't understand how you're generalizing this guy as a flipper. Or why, for that matter. To borrow some of your words it seems like a simplistic way of thinking about the world.

Seller claims he is selling/advertising for his father-in-law....don't know if that is a true statement or not...but is plausible I suppose. Only way to find out is talk to the seller and get more info. twocents

I'm not sure this guy is a flipper or not. Have to look at the paperwork....

Many GM guys who claim to dislike Mopars are smart enough to know how much they are worth. They will gladly buy one and turn it while claiming they don't have any interest in the car.

Getting back toward the original post, a 4 speed, big block b body is certainly desirable. At a glance, the engine bay appears pretty nicely done, if not factory correct. If the paint/body were solid, it is certainly worth well into the 20's but I struggle a bit at $35K with the interior being a bit shabby and it not being a main stream muscle car- ie super bee, R/T, etc.

Agree 100%. It's a cool car, but not 35k cool for me.
