The only manufacturer that I know of that sells an AWD from the factory is IH, the others are all conversions most likely done by Marmon-Herrington. This maybe what you saw but I could be wrong.

Nowhere does it say AWD. The W600 and the previous W500 were part time 4 wheel drive.

A 75 would have used Rockwell FDS75 (6.80:1) or Dana 70 axles (6.20:1). The transmissions were NP435 or NP540. Transfer case was a Rockwell T223

Seeing that you are in Canada, they may have used a NP201 transfer case on Canadian trucks.

They say AWD because many of them have tandem rear axles. They are not full time AWD units. But like I said, I could be wrong, I don't know much about the older heavy trucks.

Marmon Herrington.....there's a skeleton from the past! The power company I work for bought some Ford F450 service buckets with Marmon Herrington 4WD conversions. The transfer cases looked like something out of a Toyota Tacoma, and would last about 6 months. January of 1998, we were headed to Watertown, NY to help get the power back on after a monster ice storm....and the transfer case came out of that POS Ford in Scranton, PA. I limped it into a Ford dealership in downtown Scranton. You should have seen the look on the poor old mechanics faces when they looked under the truck! Took em 2 weeks to fix it, and I thought they did good at that!

Thanks everyone. This was an american truck. I didn't get a good look to even see what engine was in it. I thought it looked like it would be a good candidate for a Cummins swap.
