I want to be able to fill my own CO2 tanks. Only 10 ounce bottles. I already bought a 20# tank today, with no dip tube, so I know that I have to invert it to fill smaller bottles. Who's kit did you purchase to fill them?? Also will need a scale. I was looking at this kit on Amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CSX8JY6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A296XKTZO0TYR9&psc=1

that kit won't work for you 10 oz bottle, that is for a paintball bottle, your bottle has a cga 320 fitting on it.

I use 2 320 cga nipples and a 2000 lb hydraulic hose along with a shut off valve. Since i can fill at any time and the small bottle stays bolted in the car, I don't try and get 10 oz in it, a quick shot and i am done.

I put the pieces needed together to get -6 nipples on both bottles. Made up a -6 PTFE hose to connect them. Dump the small bottle and weigh it. Close the valve and put it in the freezer for awhile.
Hook the bottles up and open the valves. Give it a minute, close the valves and disconnect. Weigh the small bottle and make it weigh NO MORE than 10oz heavier than empty. Maybe a bit less if it's going to be in a race car in the sun.

No different really from nitrous.

I made up a connector to refill from a 10 pound bottle, then got tired of that and put the 10 pound bottle (4” diameter and about 12” tall) in the car, used a fire ex. clamp. Then refilled from the wire welder tank (6’ tall) Airco wanted $20 to refill that skinny bottle and would have to send to the main plant, maybe 3 days. The 10 pound bottle straight out was $31, no brainer
Two fittings and a short pipe is all you need, pressure will equalize between the two shut the valves remove pipe slowly to release what little pressure is in the adapters. Not much pressure in a CO2 bottle, that’s why it’s allowed in car.

I used to charge $15 to fill a 10oz. Lost money when you figured what it cost to have the bottle with the lease and the stuff to do it. Had it since I had O2 in my car and I was the only one around to do it. Small town. Maybe 6 other guys who needed it. shruggy

You guys just need to make friends with a beverage bottling place close by. I worked at one for a while, cause the guy that owned it was my neighbor. part of my job was filling 5, 10, and 20 lb bottles. As some one else mentioned, put bottles in freezer night before.
