finally getting to it again after all these years.. bought from orig owner.. original DAY 2 car.. all #'s matching still.. had very minor rust, only in rear dutchman panel and center of trunk floor....

replaced dutchman with an NOS one and trunk floor from a wrecked 73 challenger.. [close enuf] its only a 340 car ..if it ever warms up and stops raining i will get it started for the first time!

75% done with it..glass and int next.. scott smith carb...

That's a good looking car! Should be a lot of fun with that little 340 under the hood.

well it started right up after about 5-7 seconds of cranking.... little lifter clatter for 10-15 seconds then quiet.. little smoke for 30 seconds then all clear...dummy me put an oil gauge sender on it and it has an idiot light only...doh.. also reman w pump started to seep a bit so its prob junk even though its new rebuilt... no big leaks.... yet... moves under its own power... brakes need a good pedal bleed..then glass and seats and she is mostly done.. used the blue racer 280-290 443/465 cam... very light lope is all... temp gauge inop... dash not assembled yet because of those kind of things...so tomorrow
we will see if it drips anything [cardboard under it] ... sure nice after 35 years...

well..leaking coolant from the new water pump...[just my luck].... gas gauge didn't rise when i added more fuel....temp gauge didn't work.. pulled cluster and tested gauges they are dead..wow

never seen 2 gauges dead like that before... had a spare cluster tested the gauges in it and they work...so my gauges all work now....replaced water pump [again] hope this one lasts...

Always a few teething problems after a major overhaul. It's looking good.

yep..so far so good after some repairs..lol,.. engine runs very well..that was my big worry since it sat since 1990..i scoped cylinders for any rust and found no marks ..[i oiled it down well when i assembled it though too]...

added power disc brakes was my only real big change though, and i did swap the shifter and console for a 71 unit..i prefer the T handle and the ashtray style console look... should be a good runner..just sucks i waited so long..

restored like 10 other cars around it... have one more car to do and i am done!
