2021, Special service, that I ordered a few months ago. Went through the build sheet, had t made to order. I ordered Holland Blue, but a few weeks after I sent it in, the fleet guy said who knows when they would make a run on that color. I opted for hydro blue.

Rambox, tow package, and a few other options. It is somewhat limit. It replaces my Durango which had nearly 80 thousand miles.

Will be adding a bull bar, and running boards.

Suggestions on some mufflers that aren’t loud at idle, but good when getting into the pedal? Maybe a K&N air kit?

It got a lot of attention while at the fleet sales, which handles the outfitting of lights and radio. Also had close to a hundred miles on it. The boys must have made a few lunch runs with t.

The dealership orders Durango’s 500 at a time. Same with Chargers. They also sell Tahoe, but GM really treats public safety sales like gum on their shoe. The SUV market is so strong, they hate selling them at government rate- which is not much for GM.

four Tahoe, will get you five Durangos and plenty of change.

This Ram sold to me for thirty. Same on the public sales would be forty five. Cannot be beat.

Sweet! A couple of questions:

(1) Is this an agency vehicle or personal?

(2) 2WD or 4WD?

I looked into the airbox upgrade for my 2014 and general consensus was that the factory set-up was pretty good, but YMMV.

congrats

Yeah its a hemi. and 4WD. we order pursuit Durangos for patrol and the six cylinder for investigators and the civil process area. The 392 rear end is working out well. In my personal Ram which is the Special Service model- the 3:23 is good for my travelling, but i have to put it in the tow mode so it isn't bouncing in and out of the highest gear.

Nice truck ! We run V6 Chargers for patrol cars and Tahoe’s for our K9 and EMS zone medics. We beat the hell out of the Tahoe’s and they hold up well. I’m currently in a 2017 for my EMS unit with 163k miles on it and no hope of a replacement soon.

We tried the Durango’s though I never drove one. Had a lot of electrical issues and some mechanical so they went back. We now have some V6 Interceptor Explorers which I’m told will replace our Tahoe’s over time. Most of us are not real happy about that. But the cost difference is significant.

Glad to hear you went with the 392s, I remember back when you were ordering it and asked ... and I recommended it ...I'm so proud of myself

My v6 Ram (short day cab) has 355s, and hardly a day goes by that I don't wish it had 392s. Not sure it would make a big difference, but the v6 has NO torque, and like your other truck, I usually run in tow/haul just to avoid the constant up/down shifting.

I like the color!

It takes gasoline to interest me.

Isn't that the truth. I've driven 4 cylinders that had more torque than the Pentastar.

Don't know whtf they were thinking when they built the torque curve for that engine? Makes all kinds of power and torque at 6000 rpm...........where it's just so usable in day to day driving rolleyes

Vararam Ram air on mine is awesome performance wise, dramatically reduced numbr of down shifts when going up hills at highway speed, quiet around town, sounds like it's gonna suck the hood in at WOT over about 4000 RPM. The fit and finish on the other hand leaves a lot to be desired. I have a 6.4 SRT8 Shortblock in my 2011 1500 ram.

One of the challenges with the Tahoe's is the price differential. GM, has no desire to be in the public safety market. They can't keep up with demand on SUV orders and offer no significant discount. I don't see how the fiscal bodies permit the purchase of them. I suspect for every four Tahoe, an agency could have at least five Durango. Similar performance and interior room.

I don't by Fords because when I was a detective, I was selecting items for my Fusion. It was offered with a manual transmission. I wanted it- the rep refused to order it. That blunder has cost him over a million now. The Ford explorers look like 30 year old Four Runners anyway.
