do you guys lube your new shifter cables with anything? or install them as is?. im replacing the old shift cable on my pro ratchet and was thinking of lubing it up with dry graphite?thanks

One vote for nothing, though I never tried (or even considered) adding anything. The one in my car now has been going strong for around 10 years. I replaced one that was too short and didn't last I think because of the bends it had to do..and/or closness to exhaust.. that short one lasted only a few months. From my very limited experience I would think that the bends and heat sources are more important than lubrication inside the cable.

Never in all my years had I ever had to lube up the cable.
If you were going to, I'd only use a graphite lube.

Your shift cable isn't a cable, but a stiff wire. And even if you put 90W in there at minus 20 when the engine warmed up it would be fine. What on earth could it hurt?
